Tree Survey & Felling for The National Trust

Two aerial filming deployments yesterday. One of which was for the NT near Tarn Hows. Large felling operation taking place due to the Phytophthora ramorum (larch tree disease). The drone has been used on multiple occasions to survey the canopy in three large wooded areas. Its very clear from the air which trees are infected. The infected areas are mapped with GPS co ordinates to assist with identification. The drone can then return on automated control to each mapped location every year.
The drone can also get very close to the felling where a normal film operator would not be allowed.
