Early Beginnings: My fascination with the world of drones began 20 years ago, when I ventured into the realm of FPV fixed-wing drones. This early experience with GPS navigation systems, HUD, and video downlinks laid the foundation for my foray into the captivating world of aerial photography.
From Engineer to Drone Operator: Before taking to the skies, I served as a global support/development engineer for an International Process Gas Company. I set up Skylark Aerial Photography combining my family’s artistic legacy with my engineering prowess to establish the business in 2015.
Aerial Photography: The Ultimate Canvas: With nearly 800 hours of commercial drone flying under my belt, Skylark Aerial Photography has grown to be the go-to drone service in Cumbria and the Lake District. Our lenses have captured the extraordinary and mundane alike, from landscapes, lakes, boats, aircraft, hotels, homes, cars, animal to architectural marvels.
Diverse Portfolios and High-Profile Ventures: From documentaries to marketing campaigns, our lenses have captured them all. Our work has graced the screens of BBC Four, Sky, ITV, and many more, capturing the essence of Great Canal Journeys, Britain’s Lost Waterland’s, and countless other TV shows.

We cater for all aspects of aerial filming, aerial photography, building inspection and aerial survey.
We operate in the Lake District, Cumbria, Lancashire, Yorkshire North West, North East and Scotland

Fully Approved
Our pilots are fully qualified to the industry standard and have gained the CAA Remote Pilot Certificate of Competence (A2 CofC) valid to 2030.
Our pilots have been trained by CAA approved Rheinmetall Unmanned Systems Training Academy (RUSTA) and UAVHUB.
Equipment
Skylark Aerial Photography has a large inventory of equipment.
The latest aerial drones, an FPV camera buggy, action cameras, 360 camera and ground camera systems.
We also have battery systems which allow us to have a fully charged drone throughout a days filming.
DoP and producers can review live footage from the aerial systems with virtual goggles or the dual control system.
As part of our service we are able to offer ground filming if required with bespoke systems.
Peace of Mind
Skylark Aerial Photography operations are fully covered with public liability insurance (£5 million) and comply with all statutory requirements relating to the industry.
Skylark Aerial Photography has also logged over 777 operational hours on filming assignments.
