The Process
Requirements Discussion
Prior to the start of the process, we like to discuss in detail the clients requirements and they would like to achieve. This can be one to one, teams or by phone. An initial assessment can be made for the shoot with online location research, time required. An estimate can be provided.
Should there be any addition elements that need to be taken into consideration such as land ownership, terrain, areas where additional permits are required then these will be made known.
Planning & RA
On commissioning the project/film shoot is assigned a project number. The project research begins in detail using our online research library and knowledge of the area. If required a site location visit will be organised. A small drone may be deployed at this point to ascertain heights, shoot angles, sunlight direction, sunset & sunrise.
A full risk assessment is prepared, reviewing potential risks, such as geography, buildings, people, rights of way, leisure activities, transport systems, access, potential other air users. Safety measures are put in place to reduce all risks so that they are within the green area of the risk assessment matrix.
The Deployment
Prior to the filming weather checks would have been made several days before the operational day. Final checks will be made to make sure the deployment is safe using our online checks. Should the weather be not suitable then the client will be made aware and if possible, the shoot arranged for another day.
We will arrive in plenty of time before the deployment with a minimum of two drones, multiple drone battery packs, recharging systems, suitable clothing for the operators for a possible long day on the fells or on a construction site where PPE will be required. We also use a fully off-road vehicle to enable access to areas that are off road.
Media Files
Depending on the shoot media shot can be a few gigabytes on one card or it can be many cards of media. If the client has the ability to download this on the day, then we are very happy to provide the material after the shoot or during the shoot. However, we can also transfer the material using WeTransfer.
Material is held on file for 6 months on a secure drive system. A small charge is made should this material be required to be accessed after it has been transferred to client.
