Website Home Page
Skylark Aerial Photography is very pleased to announce that the new look website has gone live today. The site built by Scratch Creative of Kendal features an all new layout to display the videos and photographs to maximum effect. Take a look round.
The new website will showcase the aerial abilities and editing of Simon Handley operator and owner of Skylark Aerial Photography. As business grows it was felt that the website should showcase the growing portfolio of work.
To compliment the aerial work a full 3 axis hand held gimbal system has been purchased. This will enable ground based video to be edited into the aerial sequences. “Customers have often asked for video edits to also contain land based video” says Simon. Now this has become a reality and we shall soon be able to film both outdoor and indoor shoots. Its is hoped that audio commentary will be added at a future date to the videos produced.
In addition to land based video, investment in a new drone platform will be launched later this year. The new platform will be able to deploy Thermal Imaging systems for use.
With the advancement of Thermal Cameras that can be mounted onto drones what does this mean for Skylark Aerial Photography?
One of the advantages of combing drones with thermal cameras is the ability to reach areas which would require working at heights and large areas to inspect. The technology in the camera produces pinpoint accuracy with a live feed back to the pilot and camera operator. This creates the ability to instantly analyse situations or record data.
Skylark Aerial Photography is very pleased to take advantage of thermal imaging. Some services which will benefit from this technology are:-
Solar Panel efficiency and damage
Commercial building inspection
Heat loss and potential missing insulation
Industrial drive systems
Power line inspection
Search and Rescue
Lost or injured animal/life stock search
Wild life counts
Structures and building/property inspections
Energy losses
Damaged or inadequate insulation
Ideal to check insulation problems, leaks or heat loss in flat roofs
Find moisture, in roofs and walls
Detect poor building quality
Flood damage
Monitor the drying of buildings
Detect electrical issues
Solar Panels
Potential defects on cells and module levels or possible electrical interconnection problems.
Wind Turbines
Increased temperatures are clear indicators of potential problems and high risk areas. Identifying these issues early reduces risk, downtime and operational costs. Combined with the drone’s standard high resolution video capability it makes a powerful tool when inspecting wind turbines.
Drones with thermal imaging can be deployed very easily and information reviewed on site as part of the preventative maintenance schedule.
