Roof and Building Inspections.
We offer ‘Roof and Building Inspections ‘ in which we conduct a full survey of designated areas. You will receive detailed imagery which can be:-
- Individual high quality detailed photographs of areas of interest.
- Large over lay photographs, 2D and 3D imagery.
- Aerial video of the building or roof.
- Aerial thermal imaging. Using this technique areas where moisture damage is occurring will be seen, areas of poor insulation, over heating drive systems, in-efficient stacks. The use of this technology from high up is one sure way to make sure your building is safe and weather proof.
How much time does it cost you or your company to inspect on a regular or periodic basis the roof area of your building? Do you have to organise work at height permits? cherry pickers, scaffolding, road closure or permits from the local council, harness or a specialist team. What is the cost to your company or business? A drone roof & building inspections using specialist sensors can conduct an inspection within hours, no work at heights, usually no permits needed and its safe.
Imagery is relayed to the drone operator and if required to a nominated engineer from the company or live via Facebook video streaming to the site office. Very quickly the roof can be examined on a regular PPM or during an emergency call out if a leak is present.
Roof and building inspections have been carried out by Skylark Aerial Photography on two large commercial roofing inspections in the last 6 months and one major woodland survey of over 300 acres.
One such company had suffered multi million pound damage from water damage caused by a failed roofing system. The insurance company had insisted that an aerial inspection be carried out immediately for continuation of the insurance cover. The second large company over 40 acres of site had requested drone inspection as part of their annual PPM. A number of areas where water could ingress into the factory in the future were identified. The site also requested inspection of stacks, silos and the high process area. The inspection by drone of the whole site took 6 hours. This would have taken a week with manual inspection and at least 10 times the cost.
We will be happy to inspect your roof. The survey will include the roof covering, guttering and associated pipe work, soffits, fascias and bargeboards. We will also happy to inspect any chimney stacks, chimney pots and associate infrastructure.
Annual inspection of your office, shop or factory roof is recommended. Regular inspections can identify potential problems and allow them to be rectified before serious damage to internal structures, fixtures, fittings and stock can occur. Our experienced drone operators using specialist drones, can quickly and efficiently report on the condition of your roofs with no disruption to your staff and customers. Out of hours working can be arranged easily.
It is estimated that 40% of all commercial roofs will develop leaks within the first year of service. The average life span of these roofs is 8 to 10 years but they can last as long as 25 years if they are correctly installed and properly maintained. In fact most insurance companies like to know that an inspection is carried out at least yearly on commercial building, churches, and historic buildings.
Commercial Roof Maintenance is a vital part of keeping your property investment performing for you. Far too often the cause of a roof failure is the absence of regular maintenance and inspection. Periodic inspections can significantly increase the long term service life of any roof system and avoid expensive emergency costs that can arise without maintenance and insurance premiums increasing if a claim is made.
