Filming Equipment Update
It was felt that the equipment portfolio needed to be expanded and include some higher quality ground based video equipment.
A DJI Osmo is already being currently used to add additional ground footage to some of our films. However as our client base increases it was felt that the addition of a high quality Lumix GH4 R, and DJI Ronin S Gimbal would make a big difference to what we can offer.
We believe that drone filming is good but that variety is the spice of life and it should be used with ground footage or added to ground based filming to show the bigger picture.
Our primary filming will still be with the drones. There are times when a some additional ground footage would be nice, or the weather is not good enough to fly a drone or drones but we can still capture some ground shots, before returning to the aerial filming when the weather permits.
We of course will still be using Jamie from Harper Audio Visual Media to provide the much longer ground filming and sound recording for promotional films.
A GH4 was chosen as the quality of video output is fantastic, unlimited recording time and can shoot VLog. Although the GH5 has replaced the GH4 it was felt the latter would be more than sufficient for our needs.
The Panasonic GH4 R will also be used later this year on a suitable aerial platform to provide higher quality aerial filming when required.
Having used the Osmo for a number of years with the X3 camera, the results have been good. But we are looking to improve the quality of our ground based filming.
The GH4 R will compliment the DJI Zenmuse X5 camera we already use for aerial filming and ground filming when used with the Osmo.
Filming Equipment Update
Our ground equipment offering now includes GoPro Hero Black, Brinno Time-Lapse Cameras, Zenmuse X3 and X5 cameras, variety of micro 4/3 Olympus lenses, Lumix GH4 R, DJI Ronin SC Gimbal, Osmo Gimbal, WG2 Feiyu Tech G5 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal for GoPro, Rode microphone.
