Aerial Filming During The Last 12 Months. A big thank you to all Skylark Aerial Photography’s clients during the period April 2017 to April 2018 for using our services, its very much appreciated.
The requests for aerial filming during the last 12 months has been very varied, the biggest surprise was that the busiest month was in fact this March. During which four aerial film operations were carried out in one week two of which were Virgin Trains and The Sun Newspaper both of which had been recommended to us by other film producers from London.
April last year saw our first fashion shoot, followed by the National Park Rangers shoot, this generated the most views for the final film, well over 1 million views. It is also the best produced, directed and edited according to other film producers who have contacted me.
An increase in property shoots was seen during the last 12 month period as more agents see the benefit of using aerial stills or film to showcase properties. Not all properties are suitable, but here in the Lakes there are ample opportunities to film properties on lake frontage where a drone is in its element.
TV aerial filming requests remained at the same level as the previous 12 month period. A lot of TV production companies still use aerial operators from the south which is very costly. We are currently looking at how we can break more into this market and making ourselves known.
Over 70% of the work has been referral which we feel speaks volumes about the standard of work and looking after your clients, nothing is too much trouble.
Hospitality industry saw a growth area as did tourism.
Key working relationships with the National Trust has proved very successful. Not only do we provide aerial filming and survey work but offer advice on drone operations in the South Lakes with regards to legal and safety mandates.
The new look website has been particularly effective in generating growth, it pays dividends to spend time on your website and invest in it.
We are looking forward to the next 12 months and will be at the Windermere Boat Show in May and the Cartmel Agricultural Show in August. All been well we will have some exciting new technology to showcase. If you are at either of these shows pop over and say hello to us.
