Drone Survey in Hong Kong

Drone Survey in Hong Kong with SkyShotz.

Skylark Aerial Photography’s sister company is based in Hong Hong.

The company has an impressive number of drones used extensively for aerial survey.

The preferred the drones the company use are:- Mavic Pro, Mavic Pro 2’s, Matrice 200, Phantom 4 Pro and multiple fixed wing drones.

For the aerial filming Inspire 2’s and Mavic Pro’2s are deployed.

With drone survey in Hong Kong multiple operations are often carried out in the field with no access to power supply.

Because of the use of numerous battery systems, laptops and cooled drinks survey can carry on as long as required.

Sophisticated software packages allow high level 3D mathematical mapping and modelling when requested by their clients.

Here is a description of a typical day.

Drone Survey in Hong Kong

This is field setup from yesterday’s continued survey of a wetland area and surrounding industrial complex.

There were various challenges such as the size of the survey area, the height difference of objects within the area.

Here the location is on top of a 63m hill that in it’s self was a challenge because of 2m tall Pampas grass.

If a little later in the year there would likely be snakes too.

Phantom 4 Pro v2, Mavic Pro and Mavic 2 were deployed requiring a total of 17 flights.

Because of the strong sunlight during the day long a golfing umbrella was used to provide shade.

This presented an interesting issue because the aluminium UV coating on the underside of the umbrella shielded the transmission signal.
