Half Year Update as Skylark Aerial Photography exceeds targets

Half Year Update as Skylark Aerial Photography exceeds targets and cements itself as the most widely used drone service in the Lake District, Cumbria.

Skylark Aerial Photography has moved into a new bespoke office. With the addition of another high speed PC to cope with the demand of work projects. Another drone will be purchased later this year. At present there is a rolling 2 year update of the fleet.

We are pleased to say we have been commissioned by Visit Britain to provide aerial filming for an Indian Film Crew here in the Lakes. We have also been asked to provide filming of a major construction project in Lancaster.

This September looks to be the busiest month of the year with 12 confirmed bookings and 2 provisional bookings. On average Skylark has taken a commission every week during the winter months and at least two during the summer months.

Skylark Aerial Photography Exceeds Targets

The continued support from our existing client base has allowed Skylark Aerial Photography to drive forward as the leading aerial film provider. Repeat business is an indication of the quality of our work. We will also go that extra mile every time we are approached to provide a service.

Aerial Survey/Inspection work now accounts for 40% of the aerial work, drone training, consultancy and presentations accounts for 5% of our work. The rest is made up of TV, property, filming and aerial photography. Business is gained from repeat and referral and makes up 60% of commissions.

Around 70% of the commissioned work is from within Cumbria followed by North Yorkshire then Lancashire. Skylark Aerial Photography is beginning to see work commissions from further afield.

Web based commissions has increased to 40% this year, partly down to the new improved website with much improved videos and photographs on the home page.

Virgin Trains and The Sun Newspaper were good examples of referral from TV producers who had mentioned Skylark Aerial Photography. Virgin Trains has now commissioned Skylark Aerial Photography twice. The National Trust is now a key client and continues to use our services multiple times each year.

TV Commissions

Both Channel 5 and Channel 4 have used Skylark Aerial Photography services this year, look out for the stunning aerial footage provided on national TV later and early next year.

Thank you

Skylark Aerial Photography would like to thank all our existing customers who continue to support us. We would also like to thank all the new customers who have commissioned us this year. We hope to see you again.

Business Investment

Because of business growth and predicted business growth throughout 2018 into 2019 it was decided to invest in weather proof drone with 4K camera, Mavic Pro 2, additional Inspire 1 first generation (as we love them) before they are discontinued, additional high end PC for video processing. Last of all new office to accommodate the business growth.

Skylark Engineering Services

Skylark Engineering Services has been asked to provide consultancy work for a Premier Foods company (Cadbury’s, Bisto amongst others are owned by Premier) to develop an existing ingredient plant. There may well be an opportunity to offer aerial roof inspection of the plant as well. A separate Facebook Page will be developed for the Engineering Services side.
