Do not Upgrade Your iOS to 11.2.5 like I did and now cannot fly any Inspire 1’s. Not good when your at a customers site and still did all the checks the night before only to find you cannot deploy at a customers.
Don’t know if there are any other drone operators out there reading this page. Take note if you have not updated your Apple Ipad’s to latest iOS, DON’T. Its not compatible with the DJI Go App. After carrying out all the usual checks hardware and software and check flight the night before, I find I cannot deploy at the customers. (make sure your Ipads do not automatically update as mine did during the night).
I get to site in the morning nice and early only to find Inspire will not work, like a dead duck. Luckily I had my faithful small drone as backup which worked.
Do not Upgrade Your iOS. Typical of DJI who seem not to check their firmware with Apple, strange for a $2 billion company, who are more focused on what next to launch than resolving any technical issues or making sure their firmware and apps work after updates. Considering DJI are supposed to be safety aware or so they say they need to make sure all their software works not launch the next best drone, spend some money on getting things right. Would you go in a passenger drone built by DJI. Maybe they should think that way.
From DJI – Do not Upgrade Your iOS
Dear users,
Please note that there are some compatibility issues between the newly-released iOS 11.2.5 and our DJI GO 3.1.24, 3.1.26 or DJI GO 4 4.2.4 apps. The drone platforms potentially affected by this update are the
Phantom 3 series,
Phantom 4 series with HDMI module and the Inspire 1 series. The compatibility issue may disrupt the ability of the remote controllers of these platforms to connect to the DJI apps. Our developers are working on solving this issue as soon as possible and will notify you once we have released a fix.
To minimize impact to your user experience and flight stability, please refrain from updating your iOS to the 11.2.5 version until further notice. If you have already updated to the latest iOS 11.2.5 version and want to fly your drone as we work on resolving this issue, you can choose to roll back to the previous iOS 11.2.2.
We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause and will keep you posted on our progress.
